Here is the list of books, topic wise that are suggested for the objective type AICAT exam. I will publish a list for the written exam and interview as well. In fact, the book India 2013 would be a lot helpful in both exams.



I have just read this book, I borrowed it from my friend. It contains 3 out of 5 topics - logical reasoning, data interpretation and Reading Comprehension. All the sections are important and relevant for us except maybe section 4, but I won't avoid that one too. It is not very thick, and can be done almost 50 percent in 2 weeks.

AICAT pattern, cut-off, duration, sectional cut-off, marks, questions - PMRDF 2013

This is the second batch of PMRDF program. Last year (2012), the pattern of entrance and admission was different from this year. There was no AICAT. Therefore, this is the first time, it is being conducted.

Few basic points regarding AICAT 2013 -

1. The test is an Objective test
2. Total Number of questions - 90
3. Total marks (maximum marks) - 100
4. Total Time allotted – 90 minutes
5. Date of Exam - 28th December, 2013
6. Timing of the exam - 2.30-4.00 p.m
7. There are 5 sections - Each section will have 20 questions [except for Reading Comprehension, where the section has only 10 questions]
8. Each question is for 1 mark [ except for Reading Comprehension, where each question is for 2 marks]
9. Negative marking - 0.25 mark [No negative marking for Reading Comprehension questions]
10. Each question will have 4 options
11. No sectional cutoffs 

The 5 sections -
1. Reading Comprehension – 2 passages with 5 questions each (total 10 questions)
2. Data Interpretation & Inference - 4 Data Sets with 5 questions each (total 20 questions)
3. General Awareness – 20 Questions
4. Logical reasoning – 20 Questions
5. Knowledge about National Programmes and Schemes – 20 Question
